COVID-19: Stop hunting returnees from abroad like antelopes, Shehu Sani tells Nigerian govt

The senator who represented Kaduna West in the 8th Senate, Shehu Sani, has cautioned against hunting Nigerians who returned from abroad like antelopes due to COVID-19.

Majority of those who tested positive to the novel coronavirus in Nigeria have been people who returned to Nigeria from countries with high risk of coronavirus pandemic.

Following the development, both the federal and state governments have been encouraging citizens to report people they know that recently returned to the country from abroad.

Responding to the development in a post on his Twitter handle-@ShehuSani, on Monday April 6, Sani who is also a human rights activist wrote:

“Don’t be hunting returnees like Antelopes because of #COVID19.”
