Gov. Cross River State, Ben Ayade.... Claimed to have embarked on 5,000 housing unit project for Bakassi indigenes

Scores of residents in Cross River State got a rough treatment when many of them who were seen outside past the curfew time ordered by the state government were flogged by the State’s COVID-19 taskforce team.

The action by the COVID-19 taskforce team which was recorded on video captured the taskforce members going around with their vans and whenever they sighted people outside, they approached them and flogged them, chasing many into their houses.

This came after the Cross River State government said Thursday that five trucks conveying Almajiris from the northern part of the country had been intercepted by a border patrol team in the state.
