A chieftain of the PDP in Edo state, Chief Tom Ikimi has called on President Muhammadu Buhari not to allow himself to be decieved by the Edo state governor, Adams Oshiomole.

Ikimi, who spoke at the flagoff of the governership campaign of PDP candidate in the state, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu in Benin city on Monday, said. “Oshiomole is decieving you Mr President”.

He also made a passionate appeal to President Buhari over the forthcoming governorship election in the state, calling on the president to ensure a level playing field in the September 10 elections to enable the people make a choice of whom they want to govern them.

Ikimi who went down memory lane to remind the president of all he (Ikimi) did to ensure that Buhari emerged as president in the two previous elections, said he had only one thing to ask as reward.

He maintained that the coming elections should be devoid of any form of manipulations to ensure that the people’s choice emerges as governor of the state, come September 10.

He also recalled that the present governor of the state emerged as a victor in the last governorship election in the state, due to the magnanimity of former President Goodluck Jonathan, and not for his achievements.

He said it was unfortunate that Oshiomole now chose to “bad mouth Jonathan” at every turn of event.

While calling on the people of the state to vote for PDP and Ize-Iyamu, Ikimi also revealed that it was the same Ize-Iyamu who introduced Oshiomole to him in the early days when Oshiomole was vying for the number one seat in the state.
