ENUGU: Ugwuanyi to focus on security in second term

Enugu State Governor, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi has promised to make security of life and properties his government’s priority in his second term.

Ugwuanyi stated this in his inaugural speech on Wednesday after his swearing in for a second term in offit.

Speaking further, the governor promised to continue to train and retrain members of the Neighborhood Watch to ensure efficient security in the hinterland.
This, he said he would do aside from providing support for the security agencies.

The governor further noted that investors and investment can only thrive in a secure environment, adding that his government had made law to ensure that the security of lives and property come to stay in the state.

“We have launched the Enugu State Security and Endowment Fund and inaugurated the Neighbourhood Watch in all communities in the state under the supervision of the security agencies,” he said.

Ugwuanyi, who commended youths in the state for supporting his administration, directed all the elected chairmen and councillors to relocate to their various council areas and communities to ensure that peace and development were delivered to their local communities.
