Ethiopia: Security forces kill dozens in new wave of anti-government protests crackdown

Published

on

There was blood letting in the Oromia and Amhara regions of Ethiopia as security forces unleashed terror killing scores of people in a bid to suppress widespread anti-government protests across the two key regions.
According to Amnesty International more than 90 people were killed by security forces but an opposition leader put the number of casualties at 50.
The state-owned Ethiopian News Agency said “illegal protests” staged by “anti-peace forces” had been brought under control, but it did not mention the number of casualties.
