Ex-ICPC board nominee, others jailed 12 yrs for bribery

Father remanded in prison custody for defiling teenage daughters at knifepoint

A former chairman of the Governing Council of Kwara State Polytechnic, Ilorin Saad Alanamu along with the chief executive director of Namylas Nig. Ltd, Salman Sulaiman have been convicted by a Kwara State High Court For bribery.

Reports revealed that Alanamu who was arraigned by ICPC in 2017 had been nominated into the commission’s board, but later dropped due to an allegation of graft which ICPC was investigating.

Saad was charged for collecting N5 million bribe from a contractor friend as kickback for the award of a contract. He was also accused of giving out the construction of an auditorium in Kwara State Polytechnic, at the cost of N182.3 million contract to a company belonging to his friend when he was not notified for such.

Sulaiman was also accused of bribing a government official when he paid the said sum of money into Alanamu’s Bank account as a reward for the award of contract to his company.

The judge, Justice Mahmud Abdulgafar, however, found the duo guilty and sentenced them to twelve years in prison.
