Female bombers attack Borno, one arrested

The spate of bombings of targets in the Northeastern part of the country showed no sign of abating, as two female suicide bombers have attacked a suburb of Maiduguri, the Borno State capital.

The attack, carried out on Saturday at about 7.50 am, occurred in Dala-Yazare in Maiduguri in Borno State.

According to witnesses, the suicide bombers found their way into a crowded suburb of the troubled city, with one of them succeeding in blowing up herself while the second was arrested and disarmed before she could trigger off the explosive belt worn under her garment.

Dala-Yazare is located some 4km away from Maiduguri, along the Biu-Maiduguri road.
