Gang kills 70-yr-old man in revenge attack

A man in his late 70s, Alhaji Bala Gishiru has been murdered in a revenge killing that took place in the ancient city of Kano.

Thé late Gishiru, who was said to be a local hunter, was killed by a gang of rival thugs, 24 hours after his own son, Jamilu Bala, was fingered as a prime suspect in the murder of one Musa A Yusuf.

The tragic killing of Yusuf followed a disagreement that occurred over the outcome of a local football match that took place at Filim Mushe in Sani Meneke area of Gwale Local Government Area about two weeks ago.

Witnesses told Sunday Sun that soon after the funeral of Yusuf, his relatives and fellow thugs besieged the home of his suspected killer (Jamilu Bala) adding that when they could not find him at home, they descended on his father.
