No less than 10 lives were claimed when a garment factory located in the north of the Bangladeshi capital, Dhaka, was engulfed by a deadly fire.
Emergency officials warn that the death toll could rise following the fire outbreak which was sparked due to a boiler explosion at the Tempako Packaging Factory in the industrial town of Tongi.
About 100 people are believed to have been working at the building when flames tore through the four-storey factory following the explosion.
According to police inspector Sirajul Islam; “We’ve got confirmation of at least 10 dead. But the toll will go up as the fire is still not under control”.
