Grammy 2016: Kendrick Lamar leads with 11 nominations

The prestigious annual Grammy awards returns to L.A’s Staples Centre on the 15th of February 2016 and the first batch of nominees across 83 categories have been unveiled.

Alicia Keys, a 15-time Grammy Award winner herself, revealed the nominees vying in the four General Field categories: Album of the Year, Song of the Year, Record of the Year and Best New Artist.

Fifteen minutes after Alicia Keys made her announcement, the award organisers officially announced nominations across 83 categories via a press release made available on Grammy.com.

Topping the list of nominees for the awards which does not have a host announced yet is Kendrick Lamar who earned 11 nominations, while both Taylor Swift and The Weeknd tie in second place with 7 nominations apiece.
