Gunmen burn several houses in fresh attack on Plateau community

A Baptist church pastor, Rev. Alhamdu Mandadus has been reportedly killed by some gunmen in his farm at Asso, in the Jema’a Local Government Area of the state.

The Christian Association of Nigeria in Kaduna State on Wednesday, revealed the development.

The CAN Chairman in the state, Rev. Joseph Hayab, told the newsmen that the pastor was killed on his farm on Wednesday afternoon.

According to him, the military men deployed in the area had taken the corpse of the cleric to an unknown destination.

His words; “Gunmen killed Rev. Alhamdu Mangadus of Baptist Church, Asso, today (Wednesday). He was shot dead on his farm and the attackers injured another fellow from Tanda. We are going back to the era of senseless killings. When will people be safe to go out and seek food to feed their families?”

He however, called on the government to secure the lives and properties of the citizens.

The Police Public Relation Officer for the state, DSP Yakubu Sabo, could not confirm the incident as at press time.

He, however, promised to contact the appropriate division for adequate information before he reverted.
