Super Eagles duo of Wilfred Ndidi and Kelechi Iheanacho are set to get a new manager as their club, Leicester City have parted company with Claude Puel.

The 57-year-old manager worked with the club for only 16 months.

His departure comes hours after the Foxes were thrashed 4-1 at the King Power Stadium by Crystal Palace on Saturday.

Puel took over in October 2017 and led the team to a 9th-place finish in the Premier League last season.

But the Frenchman leaves Leicester on 12th in the league table having lost five of their last six premier league games.

“The Club would like to thank Claude for his efforts in leading the team during his 16 months in the role and wish him well in his future career,” a statement on Leicester City website reads.

“Assistant Manager Jacky Bonnevay also departs with the Club’s best wishes.

“First Team Coaches Mike Stowell and Adam Sadler, supported by the Club’s established backroom staff, will assume responsibility for the senior squad while the Club begins the process of appointing a new manager.

“The Board will make no further comment until this process is complete.”

This means the 2015-2016 Premier League champions are now looking for their fourth permanent manager in 23 months.
