According to reports, Amadu literarilly brought trouble upon himself following a complaint lodged about him by two men Alhaji Abdul Kadiri, 50, and Adamu Amadu, 40, who claimed he deceived them that he had sighted their stolen cattle somewhere in Kaduna.

The men said Amadu told them that he would help them to recover the animals if they paid him a certain amount but they suspected him and reported to the police which led to his arrest.
