Katsina SUBEB To Probe Purchase Of N138m ICT Facilities
Katsina State Basic Education Board (SUBEB) has directed the 34 education secretaries in the state to immediately return their two week old N138million worth of computers and internet facilities following suspected shady deals in the purchase of the equipment.
The computers recall which was at the instance of the SUBEB Executive Chairman, Alhaji Lawal Buhari Daura, was made known in a statement by the spokesman of the board, Garba Lawal Abukur, who also disclosed that the leadership of the board has inaugurated a seven man committee to investigate the lingering suspicion over the quality of the computers procured and distributed by the board to the education secretaries.
Abukur urged the education secretaries to return the computers and internet facilities to the headquarters of the SUBEB for proper investigation by the probe panel chaired by a permanent member of the board, Alhaji Abdullahi Batsari.
He stressed that the board had vowed that anyone found guilty in the scandal would be dealt in accordance with civil service rules and regulations, adding that the committee was given seven days to submit its report.
