Shehu Sani says Buhari’s govt is deceitful about restructuring

The senator representing Kaduna West, Shehu Sani, has described as tragedy the value the governing elites and political class placed on the lives of the common people.

He said any nation where its leaders only respond to the tragedy of its people when there is a public outcry and protest has lost its soul.

The senator stated this in a post on his Twitter handle, apparently in response to deaths of several Nigerians recently killed in Zamfara and other parts of Nigeria such as Borno, Kaduna, Kogi, Benue and Taraba in the last four days which led to protests.

“A nation has lost its soul and humanity when it only has to take a public outrage, rebuke and objection for its leaders to respond to the tragedy of its people.

“Political power is more important to the governing elites and the political class than the lives of the common people. The consequences of petting and pampering power when it should be consciously questioned and charged is always tragic,” he wrote.
