Lukaku scores first Man United goal in friendly

Recently signed Romelu Lukaku scored his first goal for Manchester United as the Premier League side overcame Real Salt Lake 2-1 in a friendly in Utah.

The 24-year-old Belgian, who signed from Everton for £75m, got the winner in the 38th minute of the game to add to Henrikh Mkhitaryan’s equaliser after United had fallen behind on 20 minutes.

“[Lukaku’s goal] is nice for him but not important for me,” said Mourinho.

“I told him I love what he does. He assists, he moves. He holds the ball well. I like everything he does.”

During the game, Juan Mata limped off following a heavy challenge from Sebastian Saucedo and Antonio Valencia was sent.

The Red Devils will face city rivals Manchester City in Houston on Friday.
