Madrid will be ‘unbeatable’ with Neymar -Bebeto

Former Brazil international Bebeto has claimed that if Real Madrid sign Neymar from Paris Saint-Germain they would be “unbeatable”.

The 54-year-old striker, who found fame in Spain after spending four years at Deportivo la Coruna between 1994 and 1996, was in the centre of Madrid for an advertising event and he spoke to reporters.

“Real Madrid have a great team and an impressive history so a player like Neymar, who is different, would have a place in that team,” said Bebeto.

Neymar became the most expensive footballer in history after Paris St Germain completed his £199m transfer from Barcelona last summer. He had a fine start with the Ligue 1 side, but has been sidelined by injury since February.

There have however been rumours linking Neymar with a move to the Spanish giants at the end of this season, but nothing official has been said by the player or the club.

Bebeto added: “It will be difficult for him (Neymar) to leave PSG and I don’t know what will happen, but if Madrid do sign him then they will be an unbeatable team.

“Current football changes a lot and if before it was very difficult to know if Neymar was going to leave Barcelona, now it is knowing what will happen to him in the future.”

Real are in the Champions League final against Liverpool on May 26.

Neymar has been named in the 23-man squad of Brazil as they head to the FIFA 2018 world Cup in Russia as one of the favourites.
