Barcelona forward, Lionel Messi, scored twice – after having a penalty saved – as his side beat Alaves in La Liga on Saturday, thereby recording his 350th and 351st La Liga goals in new landmark.

After his first-half spot-kick was excellently saved by Fernando Pacheco, Messi gave Barcelona the lead after the break when his shot from Gerard Deulofeu’s ball was deflected in.

He then scored a second from Jordi Alba’s headed pass on 66 minutes.

Messi had the chance for a hat-trick but his 20-yard shot hit the bar.

Following Neymar’s exit from the Camp Nou, Barca already confirmed the signing of Borussia Dortmund forward Ousmane Demeble, subject to having a medical on Monday.

They already signed Brazilian midfielder Paulinho from Chinese club Guangzhou Evergrande.
Alaves were also beaten by Barca in last season’s Copa del Rey final.
