Lionel Messi reached another landmark while Luis Suarez scored twice as Barcelona defeated Eibar 3-0 at Camp Nou on Sunday.

The Argentine, who is the all-time leading scorer in the Spanish top flight, scored the second goal of the game.

And the landmark goal comes in his 435th league game for the league leaders.

Suarez had opened the scoring by finishing a fine team move in the 19th minute, before scoring Barca’s third goal in the second half.

The victory takes Barcelona five points clear of second-placed Atletico Madrid.

Rivals Real Madrid are 13 points behind in fifth but will move into the top four with victory over Real Betis later on Sunday as Sevilla crashed 2-0 at Bilbao earlier.

Meanwhile, according to stats, Messi has scored more league goals than 29 La Liga teams have scored in their history.
