'More than a game' - Iwobi relishes Arsenal's 5-0 win, hails Wenger

Super Eagles and Arsenal forward, Alex Iwobi, was full of praise for manager Arsene Wenger as he relishes the team’s thumping win against Burnley in a game that marked Wenger’s last home match with the club.

Iwobi was one of the scorers in the 5-0 victory at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday, and it ‘pleased’ him that his boss got a well-deserved ‘send off.’

The 22-year old scored the fourth goal on 64 minutes before Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang completed the rout 15 minutes to time. The Gabonese had opened the scoring on 14 minutes before Alexandre Lacazette scored just before halftime and Sead Kolasinac on 54th minutes.

“This Was More Than A Match!,” Iwobi tweeted hours after the game.

“Really Pleased We Gave You The Send Off You Deserve. Thank You Boss ❤️#MerciArsene.”

Wenger, who will be leaving the club at the end of the season, was cheered before, during and after a splendid farewell victory at the Emirates.

Arsenal failed to make it to the final of the Europa League after losing 2-1 on aggregate to Atletico Madrid, and so lost the chance of playing in the Champions League next season.

After the game, Wenger made an address to the crowd: “Thank you for having me for such a long time but above all, I’m like you – I’m an Arsenal fan.

“I would like to thank everyone at the club who makes this club so special.

“This group of players has special quality, not only on the pitch, but off it too. Support them next season, because they deserve it.

“I will miss you. Thank you for being such an important part of my life. I hope to see you soon,” the Frenchman stated.

Wenger has been at the club for nearly 22 years and has won many trophies, including 3 Premier League titles and 7 FA Cups.
