There are strong indications that CSKA of Moscow striker, Ahmed Musa, will captain the Super Eagles when they battle Tanzania in the AFCON 2017 qualifier following the withdrawal of Vincent Enyeama who opted of the match.
The 22-year-old winger, who has the highest number of caps in the absence of John Obi Mikel, has been in top form, scoring five goals in the Russian top flight this season.
“I’m not under any pressure to lead the team because I have done that against South Africa [in March 2015] and by the grace of God we’re going over there for the three points,” Musa said.

Meanwhile, Enyimba goalkeeper Femi Thomas has been called up as a replacement for Vincent Enyeama.
Thomas was initially called up by Oliseh when the team resumed camping a couple of weeks ago but didn’t make the cut after only five home based players got Oliseh’s nod to join up with the foreign based pros.
Wolverhampton Wanderers goalkeeper Carl Ikeme and Sunshine Stars of Akure’s Ikechukwu Ezenwa are the two goalkeepers in camp and Thomas will join up with them now.
