THE President of Nigerian Air Traffic Controllers Association, NATCA, Mr. Victor Eyaru, has raised alarm over the closure of Taxiway Bravo in the Murtala Muhammed Airport, Lagos, saying the situation is making it impossible for aircraft to carry out normal engine runs at the compass wing.

Mr Eyaru who spoke with Vanguard in Uyo, yesterday, said as the world celebrates International Day of Air Traffic Controllers today, it was necessary to draw the attention of the authorities to the urgent need to open the taxiway in the airport closed over 10 years ago.

According to him, “The Taxiway Bravo in Murtala Muhammed Airport which has been closed for more than 10 years now should be reopened. The closure apart from reducing the capacity of the airport, is also making it impossible for aircraft to do normal engine runs at the compass wing.”
