NPFL: ​3SC hold Gombe to draw, Remo win as Plateau maintain lead

​​Shooting Stars ​Sports Club ​of Ibadan secured a late ​equaliser to hold hosts Gombe ​United ​to a 1-1 draw​ i the Nigeria Professional Football League clash at the Pantami Stadium​ ​on Sunday.​

Samuel Agba put the home team ahead via a penalty on the half-hour mark, and were heading for a win before Nonso Mbakwe equalised in the 92 minutes.

“The goal means a lot to me and it will make me work more harder, I want to play every game,” Mbakwe said after the match.

Struggling ​side ​Remo Stars ​earned their first win in six games as they ​beat​​ ​Ilorin-based ​ABS 3-0 ​courtesy of goals by Ekene Awazie, Salefu Ochowechi and Saheed Lasisi.

Remo ​is now ​off the bottom of the log above Wikki Tourists who ​will play in a later date against​ Enugu Rangers​, who are on​ CAF Champions League assignment​.

Plateau United maintained their ​top spot on the League table after an impressive 2-0 win against Kano Pillars at the Rwang Pam Stadium in​ Jos.​

​Elsewhere, El Kanemi Warriors kept pace with leaders Plateau at the top of the log ​with a 2-0 win against Niger Tornadoes​.​ ​Akwa United beat visiting Sunshine Stars 3-2​, as IfeanyiUbah​ were defeated​​ 2-0 ​by​ Nasarawa United​.​
