Ojuelegba crash: Victim’s family sue LASG, FRSC for N10bn

The Lagos State government has been slammed with a N10 billion suit by five family members of the victims of the fatal Ojuelegba trailer crash which occurred last year.

The suit was filed at a Federal High Court in Lagos by Norrison I. Quakers, SAN and Moyosore Onigbanjo SAN on behalf of the plaintiffs and the applicants are seeking for N10 billion in damages against the respondents jointly and severally.

In the incident which occurred last September, a 20 feet container loaded with cement fell from a truck at Ojuelegba Bridge killing three people.

Joined as defendants are the Lagos State Attorney General, the state’s public works corporation, and Motor Vehicle Administration Agency.

Also joined as defendants are the Attorney General of the Federation, the Federal Ministry of Works, Federal Road Safety Commission and the driver and owner of the ill fated trucks, Wasiu Adeleke and Kilani Ojo Adeyanju.

The applicants in the suit are Umar Abdulwahab, Usman Sulaiman, Ismala Maikankan, lbrahim Ibrahim and Sulaiman Umaru, who are all family members of the victims.
