One dies in Lagos building collapse

At least one person was confirmed dead in a building collapse at Freeman Road in Lagos Island on Saturday.

The South-West Zonal Coordinator of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), Ibrahim Farinloye, who confirmed the incident in a statement on Saturday, said the two-storey building under construction collapsed during torrential rainfall.

Emergency responders had been deployed to the scene of the incident.
