The National Association of Pharmacy Technologists and Technicians of Nigeria (NAPTON) has announced plans to partner with health sector stakeholders to fight the growing issue of fake drugs in Nigeria.

Regarding the effort, Mr. Henry Tita, Chairman of NAPTON’s Cross River State chapter said, “I also dedicate this victory to late Professor Dora Akunyili in what she believed in, that is what I stand for, together with members of my association, we will fight to eradicate fake drugs in our society.”

Echoing this, the state’s Chairman of Medical and Health Workers Union of Nigeria, Mr. Andem Usua, encouraged the state government to support and encourage NAPTON’s endeavor in the state.

“I appeal to the state government to listen to the plight of NAPTON. We are also stakeholders. We are not people that should be pushed aside,” he said.
