Police dare Kanu, IPOB to stop Anambra gov poll

Anambra State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Garba Umar, has warned leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu, to stay clear of the coming governorship poll in Anambra State.

Kanu had at a recent gathering of his IPOB members pronounced that there will not be election in Anambra State come November 18.

He also said that no election will be held in the entire south eastern states during the 2019 general elections.

But in an interview with newsmen in the state, the state police boss said that Kanu and his IPOB has no power to stop the poll.

“The election has been fixed by the constitutionally recognised electoral body. Nobody can stop it. We have the capacity to provide a peaceful atmosphere in Anambra State for that election.

“I have not heard from IPOB that it would stop the election, apart from what was published in the media. But that is for the media.

“Nobody or group can issue such a threat and succeed. As law enforcement officers, we have the capacity to subdue such a threat.

“The people of the state have the right to partake in periodic elections to choose their leaders; nobody or group can stop them from exercising such a right. We can’t allow it. We are fully on the ground and we can suppress such threat,” Umar said.

According to him, the police in the state are already in talks with relevant stakeholders in the state to ensure a peaceful poll.

Let the commissioner be saying nonsense! There’s nothing they can do, they should also employ the services of the army, no one can force the election to hold.

The truth is that people like you don’t domicile in the east but other parts of the country but you like inciting your daft people living in the East to do something you can’t do. Love your kinsmen as you love yourself. Stop pushing them to destruction.

A blind leading a blind will fall into the ditch . Kanu is a blind, leading the blinds. Sometimes I wonder how daft are the people following kanu, real igbos are thinking of how to tap into Nigeria resources and make money but hopeless igbos are thinking of a mirage Biafra.

Let us not deceive ourselves, the IPOB don’t need to go to the streets to protest against the forthcoming election, we all saw what happened during their latest seat at home protest, that kept many businesses under lockdown. If the group wants to distablize the election, they are capable of doing it

At times when you think you have enough power and backup to carry on, when the day you need to put all the power and backup into use arrives, you’d then realize you’re empty and helpless. Kanu, I’m patiently waiting to see how greatly you’ll be disappointed on the day of the election. The election will hold as stipulated and you’ll be put to shame.
