After prison life, Kemi Olunloyo now sober, sets journalism aside

Controversial media personality seems to have turned a new leaf after spending 81 days in the confines of the Port Harcourt prison if her latest post on Instagram is anything to go by.

Kemi took to the social media platform to inform that for the time being, she would operate as a political activist but would return to her first love which is journalism as soon as her trial is over.

The daughter of a former governor of Oyo State also used the opportunity to thank actress Ibinabo Fiberesima who visited her in prison with lots of food, provisions and cash in April.

Kemi also thanked one of her perceived haters Georgina Onuoha, for calling on the FG for her release from prison despite their social media war, while also extending her greetings to the daughters of the actress saying no curse will befall them as she no longer place curses on people’s heads.

Kemi was released from the four walls of Port Harcourt prison three days ago after being jailed for close to three months on grounds of defamation.

She was picked up in Ibadan after Pastor Ibiyeomie petitioned the police claiming that she (Kemi) criminally defamed him by posting an article on her blog alleging he is an adulterer, a claim he said defamed his character.

Read her post on Instagram below;

“Today I’m waking up as a political activist. The hashtag is #hnnact Journalism @hnnafrica will be back after my trial. I lost close to $300k in wages, ads, freelance assignments and revenues. My travel docs also seized and tied to my job. I have run out of money.

“Flights back and forth to #PortHarcourt trial, hotel, and transportation to court is why I set up a post for legal expenses.

Another one is going up today on #GoFundMe Thanks to all those who sent me money so far. I appreciate you all. The love and support is overwhelming. S/O to my sister @IbinaborFiberisima who visited me in prison with lots of food, provisions and cash in April 2017.

“Thank you dear for sending me even more money on Monday the day I left. She truly surprised me. That has gone to the legal fund.

To @georginaonuoha who we fought each other vigorously, it is well. I read your appeal to #AsoRock to release me. May God protect you and your lovely girls. No curse will befall them. I no longer place curses on people’s heads. GOD FORBID. I love you all.”
