Rangers draw Zesco, Rivers Utd to play Rayon Sports in Confederation Cup

Following their exit from the CAF Champions League, Rangers International and Rivers United have been drawn to play Zambia’s Zesco United and Rwanda’s Rayon Sport respectively in the round of 32 of the CAF Confederation Cup.

The draw was done on Tuesday in Cairo, Egypt.

Both teams dropped down to the Confederation Cup after failing to advance to the group stages of the CAF Champions League first round.

Rangers were eliminated after losing 5-3 on aggregate to Egyptian giants Zamalek, while Rivers fell 4-3 to Sudan’s Al-Merrikh.

The first leg matches will take place on the weekend of 7-9 April 2017 and the return legs a week later. And the winners of the ties will progress to the group stage of the competition.
