There have been talks recently that fast rising act Lil Kesh may have dumped YBNL records run by Olamide in a bid to set up his own music platform which sources say he hopes to release his sophomore album on.

We can report authoritatively that the talented artiste is truly forging ahead with setting up his own music label after his two-year contract with YBNL Records expired a few weeks ago.

It could be recalled that both Lil Kesh and Viktoh were signed onto the YBNL imprint in April 2014 and Kesh became an instant hit months after he penned his first professional contract.

Less than a year after, Lil Kesh moved from his hood in Bariga to a posh apartment located in Chevron drive, Lekki and also dropped his debut album titled ‘Y.A.G.I’ which accorded him relative fame.

It could be recalled that at the last Headies staged in January this year, Olamide was involved in a war of words with Don Jazzy when Lil Kesh didn’t emerge winner of the Next Rated category of the awards.

The keenly contested category which sees the winner going home with a brand new Hyundai car had nominees such as Reekado Banks, Kiss Daniel, Cynthia Morgan, Korede Bello and Lil Kesh Olumide.

Mavin act, Reekado Banks emerged the winner in the category but many especially on Twitter thought Lil Kesh deserved the award.

The beef between Olamide and Don Jazzy which got messier after the awards was later settled by business mogul Aliko Dangote.
