The Rivers State government has pledged the sum of $20,000 for every goal scored by the Super Eagles against Swaziland in Tuesday’s 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifier in Port Harcourt.
This was revealed on the Super Eagles official Twitter handle on Monday.
The tweet read: “Rivers State Government pledges $20k per goal against Swaziland.”
Along with the tweet, the Rivers State-born Kenneth Kobani, who is also the Secretary to the State Government, was pictured with the players during a training session in Port Harcourt on Monday.

Kobani, a card carrying member of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), made the pledge on behalf of the state government.
The Super Eagles played out a goalless draw in the first leg of the World Cup qualifier in Lobamba on Friday and need an outright victory over the Swazis to progress to the final round of the Russia 2018 qualifiers.
