Tottenham Hotspur missed the chance to go two points adrift of Premier League top spot after they lost 2-1 to Burnley on Saturday.

The defeat leaves Spurs five points behind league leaders, Manchester City and also Liverpool, who are on same points.

England striker, Harry Kane made his return to the team for the first time since January 13, having been away due to injury.

Spurs trailed shortly after the break as Chris Wood rose highest to head home Dwight McNeil’s inswinging corner, but Kane equalised after latching onto Danny Rose’s long throw and poking home.

But the Clarets got the winner when Ashley Barnes tapped in seven minutes to time to hand them a vital home win.

With the victory, Burnley rise to 13th and are now six points clear of the relegation places.
