Suarez, Messi score late goals as Barca beat 10-man Atletico to edge closer to title

Late goals by Luis Suarez and Lionel Messi spurred Barcelona to victory over Atletico Madrid in a La Liga tabletop clash at Camp Nou on Saturday.

Very early in the game, precisely in the 28th minute, Diego Costa was shown a red card, by the visitors were able to hold strong until the final minutes to lose the game.

The former Chelsea star was sent off for abusing referee Jesus Gil Manzano.

Atletico thought they had snatched a point from the encounter until Suarez put Barca ahead in the 85th minute and another goal followed by Messi one minute after.

With the win, Barca are now 11 points clear at the top of the La Liga table, really close to clinching the title.

Also, Messi becomes the first player to win 335 matches in La Liga history. He previously shared the record of 334 with Iker Casillas.
