WAFU: Super Falcons fall to Ghana on penalties

The Super Falcons of Nigeria will play Ghana in the semi-finals of the West Africa Football Union (WAFU) Women’s Cup in Abidjan, Cote d’Ivoire.

The Nigerian ladies kicked off their campaign with a 1-0 win over Mali, before thrashing Senegal 3-0 and defeating Togo 3-1 in the group stages.

They comfortably won their group with 9 points, and will now face Ghana, which started with a 1-0 defeat to Cote d’Ivoire but finished second in the Group B with a 4-1 win over Burkina Faso.

Nigeria and Ghana will battle for a spot in the final at the Treichville Sport Park on Thursday from 8pm Nigerian time, as the hosts will take on Mali same day in the other semi-final.
