Tension in Bomadi, Delta State as soldiers attack policemen over killing of colleague

There was tension in Bomadi, the headquarters of Bomadi Local Government Area of Delta, as soldiers attached to the 222 battalions in Agbarha-Otor stationed in the area, went on rampage attacking any policeman in sight.

The soldiers, according to reports, were protesting the killing one of their colleagues by a policemen attached to the Eagle Net Police Formation in the area. The soldier was shot dead by the policeman on Thursday morning.

A senior police officer, who works at the Bomadi police station but prefers not to be named, confirmed.

He said: “We currently have a security situation in Bomadi as one of our men shot dead a soldier this morning.”

According to the policeman, the soldiers went on rampage and they attacked any policeman in sight and had already seized a police patrol van attached to Bomadi Division..
