Thugs invade Ondo House of Assembly, attack lawmakers, staff, journalists

Ondo State lawmakers, Assembly workers and journalists were on Friday attacked by thugs who invaded the Assembly complex.

The invasion followed the crisis that erupted at plenary of the lawmakers after 18 members of the House impeached the Speaker and his deputy, Bamidele Oloyelogun and Ogundeji Iroju respectively.

The impeachment of the two officers of the House saw the lawmakers exchanging blows. By the time the lawmakers were done with the show of shame, the impeached Speaker, Oloyelogun and a former female speaker of the House, Jumoke Akin, had torn clothes.
