The Flying Eagles of Nigeria blew a two-goal lead to draw 2-2 against Guinea Bissau in the first leg of their U-20 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying second round tie.
In the game, played at the September 24 National Stadium on Saturday, Wasiu Alalade of Enyimba FC scored the two goals for Nigeria.
He opened the scoring on 15 minutes, and doubled the lead on 35 minutes.
But the hosts returned from the break showing greater zeal, as they scored first in the 54th minute before grabbing the equaliser on 63 minutes.
Paul Aigbogun’s men are however on advantage, having scored two away goals ahead of the return leg which comes up next weekend in Nigeria.
The overall winner of the contest will proceed to the final round of the qualifiers.
The U-20 Africa Cup of Nations will be hosted in Niger next year.
