Spanish champions, Barcelona have been drawn against English Premier League side, Manchester United in the quarter finals of the UEFA Champions League.

The draw was made at Uefa’s HQ in Nyon, Switzerland on Friday.

The Manchester United-Barcelona tie will be a repeat of the 2009 and 2011 Champions League final.

The Red Devils will play their tie against Barcelona at home first so that they and Manchester City do not play their second legs at home in the same week.

City were handed a draw against fellow English team, Tottenham Hotspur.

For the first time in 10 seasons, four teams from one country (this time, England) are competing in the last eight of the competition.

THE DRAW

Ajax v Juventus

Liverpool v Porto

Tottenham v Manchester City

Barcelona v Manchester United

The semi-final draw was also made and there is a possibility of Manchester United and Liverpool meeting as an all-English last-four tie if both teams win in the last eight.

The semi-final draw will go thus:

Tottenham v Manchester City to face Ajax v Juventus

Barcelona v Manchester United to face Liverpool v Porto

The quarter-final first legs take place on April 9th and 10th, while the semi-finals start on April 30th and May 1st.

The Champions League final takes place on June 1st in Madrid.
