​FIFA 2018 World Cup trophy to arrive Nigeria in March​

The original FIFA World Cup, which Nigeria’s Super Eagles and 31 other teams will be competing for at the 21st FIFA World Cup finals in Russia next summer, will arrive in Nigeria on Saturday, 3rd March 2018.

This is according to the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), as announced on its official website on Wednesday.

“We have confirmation now. The World Cup trophy will be in Nigeria on 3rd March 2018,” NFF General Secretary, Dr. Mohammed Sanusi, told the website.

The Trophy Tour is usually an initiative that gives fans across the world the chance to see the original World Cup Trophy, and this time, fans will be given the opportunity of see the trophy and have their photo taken with it from 9 September 2017 to 7 June 2018.

The Super Eagles of Nigeria became the first African team to qualify for the 32–team finals after beating Zambia 1-0 in Uyo on 7th October, and will discover their group foes in the World Cup draw on 1st of December.

The 2018 edition of the global showpiece will take place in 12 venues in 11 cities in Russia from 14 June and to 15 July, 2018.
