1. IPOB claims Buhari is in Oman, not Japan

The proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has disagreed with information from the presidency which said President Muhammadu Buhari was in Japan. The President on Sunday left Abuja for Japan to participate in the Seventh Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD7) holding in the City of Yokohama.

2. Buhari approves new 16-man board for NDDC

President Muhammadu Buhari has approved a 16-man new board for the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), and has sacked the interim management of the commission. A former deputy governor of Edo State, Pius Odubu was appointed as the Chairman of the board.

Vice President Yemi Osinbajo on Tuesday said the federal government will expand its current Market Moni/Trader Moni interest free loan scheme to cover more rural dwellers. Osinbajo who was addressing the 3,000 beneficiaries of the TraderMoni loan scheme in Keffi Market, Nasarawa State, on Tuesday noted that every Nigerian deserved to be rich.

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Tuomo Ward 3 of Burutu Local Government Area of Delta State on Tuesday vowed not to allow former Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Elder Godsday Orubebe, to defect from the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP to the ruling party. This was made known in a statement by its Chairman, Secretary and Leader, Warebi Edonyanbo, Ofumu Welkper and Peres Oloye.

5. Show proof FIRS falsely accused OBJ’s firm of tax evasion, BMO challenges Atiku

The Buhari Media Organisation (BMO) has challenged Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar to provide evidence that the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) falsely accused Obasanjo Farms Nigeria Limited (OFN), owned by former President Olusegun Obasanjo of tax evasion. The pro-Buhari group was reacting to claims by the former Vice President that the Buhari administration made FIRS to include Obasanjo Farms Nigeria Ltd. (OFN) in the list of over 19,000 firms that defaulted in tax payment.

6. I am not a terrorist, Sowore replies DSS in counter affidavit

Detained leader of #RevolutionNow, Omoyele Sowore has denied ever being involved in any terrorist activity as alleged by the Department of State Services (DSS). Sowore, a presidential candidate in the 2019 presidential election, also insisted that there is no evidence linking him to any terrorist activity, adding that there was no where he expressed a desire to launch any violent attack or topple any government in Nigeria.

7. Missing Federal High Court judge, Idrissa Saleh, found in Abuja suburb

A Federal High Court Judge, Idrissa Saleh, who was declared missing since Saturday has been found at a filling station in Nyanya, on the outskirts of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja. Justice Saleh was reported to have gone missing after discharging himself from a hospital located in the Central Business District of the capital city on Saturday.

8. Nigeria’s Finance Minister raises the alarm on dangers of not setting aside $9.6bn P&ID judgment

The Minister of Finance, Budget and National Planning, Zainab Ahmed, has called on Nigerians to rally against the decision of the United Kingdom court asking Process and Industrial Developments Ltd to seize $9.6bn in Nigerian assets. According to the minister, the judgment award is an assault on all Nigerians.

9. Bandits raid Katsina village, abduct 15 women

Armed Bandits continued their assault on Katsina State, Northwest Nigeria, in an early Tuesday morning raid on Wurma Village in Kurfi Local Government Area of the State. The bandits, who came in large abducted 15 women, raided shops and carted away livestock and other properties.

10. AFRICAN GAMES: Flying Eagles through to final of men’s football event

Nigeria’s Flying Eagles are one victory away from clinching the gold medal in the men’s football event at the ongoing All Africa Games in Morocco. The team are through to the final, following a 5-4 penalty shootout win against Mali in their semi-final fixture on Tuesday.
