20-year-old man drowns in pond while bathing in Kano

A 20- year-old man, Mustapha Abdullahi, on Friday drowned while having a bath in a pond at Kofar Mata by Hauran Balago Municipal in Kano State.

The Public Relations Officer of the State Fire Service, Mr Saidu Mohammed, confirmed the incident in Kano on Friday in an interview with news men.

Mohammed said that the incident happened on Friday morning when the deceased went to take his bath.

A distress call was made from one Malam Muhammadu Rabiu at about 08:00a.m. that Abdullahi’s body was found floating in a pond.

He stated that the cause of the incident was still under investigation as Abdullahi was rescued unconscious.

He was later conveyed to Murtala Mohammed Specialist Hospital where he was confirmed dead.
