What Buhari need is prayers not resignation, ACF tells BBOG's Yesufu

The Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF) has described as uncalled for and misplaced, calls on President Muhammadu Buhari to resign, or for the Senate to impeach him in the event he fails to do so.

One of the conveners of Bring Back Our Girls (BBOG) movement, Aisha Yesufu had in a video message at the weekend called on ailing President Buhari, who is on another medical vacation in London after earlier spending about 50 days also in London for medical treatments, to resign.

“We need to take our country back”, she charged. Let the President resign, if he can’t resign, let the National Assembly do the right thing and let’s have another President. It is not about President Buhari, it’s about Nigeria, and right now Nigeria is suffering and we cannot continue to allow this,” she had said.

However, the ACF in a statement on Saturday by its publicity secretary, Muhammad Biu, argued that Buhari fulfilled constitutional stipulation by handing over to his deputy.

The statement read, “Nigeria is practising a presidential system of government as contained in the 1999 constitution (as amended). President Buhari has done what is constitutionally required of him to do by his letter to the leadership of the National Assembly. The Vice President is now Acting President, performing the duties of Mr. President.

“In other countries, when their President falls sick or become incapacitated while in office, the citizens encourage him through prayers and good wishes, rather than intimidation or calling for his resignation. We can draw a lesson from such countries and wish President Buhari well for the progress of our country.

“The call by Aisha Yusuf, co-convener of BBOG, for President Buhari to resign, is, therefore, unnecessary, misplaced and not in tune with the provisions of our 1999 constitution.”

The entire Hausas are sick. If they want us to pray for him, they should re erect all the churches they burnt in the north, if they cannot do that, they should not expect any of us Christians to pray for Buhari.

This Arewa Consultative Forum is a group of bias and useless individuals, when Fani-kayode spoke against Buhari, they called for his prosecution because he’s not Hausa, now that their fellow Hausa did, they are telling us to pray for Buhari instead, who does that? The moment favoritism is out of our system, this country will begging grow.

My brother, this is one thing about the Hausas, they will never betray themselves. If it was Osinbajo that is the sick president, they would have supported Yesufu’s registration call with all their hearts. The are still queuing behind Buhari because he’s Hausa and that’s it.
