Chelsea win at Everton as City draw against Boro

English Premier League leaders Chelsea took a big step towards clinching the title as three second-half goals from Pedro, Cahill and Willian overcame Everton at Goodison Park on Sunday.

After a stale first half, Pedro’s 25-yard stunner put the Blues ahead in the 66th minute.

Gary Cahill’s close-range finish on 79 minutes doubled the visitor’s lead, before Willian’s tap-in made it 3-0.

Chelsea are now seven points clear of second-placed Tottenham, who face Arsenal later on Sunday.

Manchester City drew at Middlesbrough to stay one point ahead of the Manchester United as they also drew earlier on Sunday.

Gabriel Jesus scored a late equaliser as his side twice came from behind to rescue a point in the race for a top-four finish and dent Middlesbrough’s Premier League survival hopes.

Alavro Negredo’s strike put the hosts ahead on 38 minutes, before Aguero levelled with a penalty midway the second half.

Boro thought they had secured a valuable win when Calum Chambers poked in from close range on 77 minutes, only for Jesus to rise and convert Sergio
Aguero’s cross with five minutes remaining.

Fourth-placed City remain one point ahead of rivals Manchester United, but
miss the opportunity to go ahead of Liverpool in third.

The point however leaves Middlesbrough six points from safety, with only three games remaining.
