Court remands man in prison for allegedly killing police sergeant

Police arrest 27-yr-old over kidnap, murder

A 23-year-old man, Emmanuel Olowu, has been remanded at the Ikoyi Prison, Lagos, for allegedly shooting to death a Police Sergeant.

The Prosecutor, Inspector Oladele Adebayo, told the court on Friday that the accused had committed the offence on May 13, at 8.30 p.m., opposite TUP Steel Company, Odogunyan, Ikorodu.

He alleged that the defendant had shot and killed the 38-year-old police sergeant, Titus Richards.

The accused who was put in the dock, did not get an acceptance plea from the magistrate who ordered him remanded in prison, pending the outcome of legal advice from the Office of State Director of Public Prosecutions.

The Chief Magistrate Mr O.O. Olatunji adjourned the matter until June 26 for further mention.
