DELTA: Fears as boat conveying 12 INEC officials, results, others capsizes in river

There are fears over what may have become of 12 ad-hoc staff of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), and Security Operatives, who went missing after a speed boat they were travelling in capsized along the Ebrohimi Creek in Warri North Local Government Area of Delta State.

They were returning with electoral materials after the election from Ebrohimi Community along the Benin River to Koko, Headquarters of Warri North Local Government Area of the state.

The incident was said to have happened late Saturday night after the governorship and state assembly elections in the state.

The driver it was learnt, was on high speed when he lost control sequel to torrential waves that hit the boat.

Following the accident, 12 persons went missing from the 20 persons who were initially in the boat.
