Borno State Government on Sunday confirmed that the five suspected COVID-19 cases isolated in the state’s Public Health and Emergency Operation Centre had tested negative for the disease.

The state Commissioner for Health, Salisu Kwayabura, disclosed this in a chat with journalists in Maiduguri, the state capital.

Kwayabura said the five persons willingly submitted themselves for a test following their history of travelling to countries with the highest coronavirus cases.

He said: “The results from the specimen taken from the five suspected cases for a test at the National Center for Disease Control (NCDC), Abuja, came back negative.
