Government is determined to rescue Chibok girls – Gowon

Former Head of State, Gen. Yakubu Gowon, retd., has said the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari, is determined to rescue the abducted students of Government Secondary School, Chibok, Borno State.

Gen. Gowon stated this after meeting with President Buhari at thePresidential Villa, Abuja, on Tuesday.

The former Head of State, who said he was at the Presidential Villa to pay his respect to the president and inform him of his plan to travel out of the country, also disclosed that the meeting afforded him the opportunity to discuss some national issues with th president.

According to him, he discussed issues bordering on the fate of the Chibok girls, the President’s ongoing anti-corruption war and the violence being unleashed on the Niger Delta by members of the Niger Delta Avengers.
