INEC Registration Centre set ablaze in Ebonyi

Another INEC office destroyed by fire; PVCs, voter register, ballot boxes affected

An Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Registration Centre in Ezza North Local Government Area (LGA) of Ebonyi State, was set ablaze on Saturday morning.

The Election Day fire incident was said to have been carried out by political thugs, who also allegedly attacked staff at the Registration Centre.

The attack occurred at Okposi Umuoghara Community Secondary School at about 2:15am, and the thugs were reported to have made away with some sensitive materials before setting the building ablaze.

The state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), ASP Loveth Odah, who confirmed the incident to newsmen, promised she was going to give more details about the incident soon.
