UCL: PSG stun Barca as Benfica grab slim win against Dortmund

Amid Neymar’s transfer speculations, his Barcelona teammates, Andres Iniesta and Luis Suarez, have told the Brazilian that they want him to stay at the club.

The Barcelona forward Neymar has reportedly agreed a contract with French League 1 side, Paris Saint-Germain in a move worth around £197m that may be finalised by next week.

But midfielder Iniesta, speaking ahead of Saturday’s El Clasico meeting with Real Madrid in Miami, said on Friday, “It’s a personal decision for him but of course we want him to stay.

“For me, he is one of the best players in the world. He brings so much to the team and hopefully he will stay for many years.

“He is worth more than $200m or $300m. His playing style suits us and he can only improve with us.”

Neymar’s strike partner, Suarez, who has formed a deadly partnership with him, also calls on PSG to forget about landing the 25 year-old superstar, but is willing to support him irrespective of his final decision.

“As soon as he clarifies the situation it’s better for us and him. He will have his say when he is ready and as a team-mate I will support him,” said Suarez.

“Our relationship won’t change. We want him to stay. He’s one of the best players in the world.”

Neymar has been fabulous in Barca’s preseason friendlies and has been in training with the team ahead of their clash with rivals, Real Madrid, this Saturday.

Meanwhile, if Neymar leaves, Barcelona will likely go for Liverpool’s Philippe Coutinho, Chelsea’s Eden Hazard or Tottenham’s Dele Alli – to replace him at the Nou Camp.
