Interpol demands whereabouts of its chief arrested by China

The International Police (Interpol) has asked China to make clarifications on the whereabouts of its President, Meng Hongwei.

Interpol made the demand on Saturday after reports say the Interpol President was detained and questioned after he arrived his homeland, China.

There has been controversies surrounding Hongwei’s whereabouts, with China keeping sealed lips on the matter.

The Secretary General of Interpol, Jurgen Stick said in a statement: “Interpol has requested through official law enforcement channels clarification from China’s authorities on the status of Interpol President Meng Hongwei.”
